The Eid fireworks at Katara are back again this year as Qatar prepares for another fun-packed Eid al-Adha celebration!
Qatar Tourism Authority has arranged its ‘Capture Joy’ concept with a line-up of family-friendly entertainment shows and activities for the upcoming Eid Celebrations in Qatar.
Eid Al Adha will be on September 12th. (Update – The QDC is expected to close from Sept 2nd and will re-open on the 3rd day of Eid.)
The Celebrations are expected to start from the first day of Eid Al Adha and run for seven days with a variety of entertainment activities at venues across Qatar, including sports organisations, shopping malls, cultural landmarks and Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

Eid Al Adha in Qatar 2016 – What’s On
Please be sure to double-check event timings and costs before heading out to celebrate. Be aware that some events and activities have a fee per person whilst other events are free. You should be aware that events information may be amended by organisers.
If you are travelling far to venues then be sure to call ahead and double check there are no cancellations or amendments due to unforeseen circumstances.
Eid Al Adha Events Schedule
Eid in Qatar – QNCC
Following successful collaboration with Baraem TV during the Qatar International Food Festival, the Eid Al Adha Celebrations will bring the new Baraem musical “Fafa Saves the Forest” to the QNCC main theater.
“Fafa Saves the Forest” will be a live show about the adventures of Fafa and his four friends who try to rebuild their forest after a storm. Shows run from Sept 11th-17th 2016 and tickets are currently available for purchase at Virgin Megastore starting from QAR 150.
Eid in Qatar – Mall Entertainments
The Eid celebrations will also offer a variety of free daily family entertainment shows that will rotate among the following malls between 4-10pm:
- Hyatt Plaza
- City Centre Doha
- Ezdan Mall
- Lagoona Mall
- Al Khor Mall
- Dar Al Salam Mall
Mall visitors are expected to enjoy performances from the African Drummers, Circus Bear and Clown, and Funny Ball at the main stages. There will also be indoor parades throughout the malls featuring Fritters, B-Boys and the popular Shopkins characters.
The in-mall live entertainment shows are back with the following free shows expected from Day 1- 7 of Eid (4.00pm – 9.30pm):
- Tarzan at City Centre Mall
- Beauty & The Beast at Dar Al Salam
- Flying Super Kids at Al Khor Mall
- Alvin and the Chipmunks at Ezdan Mall
- Pirates from the Caribbean at Lagoona Mall
- Sinbad the Sailor to be performed in Arabic at Hyatt Plaza
Everyone ‘capturing joy’ at the Eid celebrations in Qatar is encouraged to share their experiences and memories on social media using the #EidInQatar and #CaptureJoy hashtags.
For those of you eating and dining on Eid Feasts and Buffets be sure to use the hashtag #QatarEating.
QTA will also continue working with its partners at Hamad International Airport and the Abu Samra border to spread the joy of Eid among visitors arriving in Qatar through Eidiyas (Eid gifts) and information pamphlets providing them with a guide to the Eid Al Adha festivities.
Eid in Qatar – The Pearl
From September 11th to 13th Eid Al Adha Celebrations will be held at Porto Arabia on The Pearl-Qatar. The event runs from 6.00pm until 10.00pm.

Eid in Qatar – Katara
Katara will once again be a main hub for Eid celebrations with shows running for the three days of Eid Al Adha 2016.
Shows run from 7.00pm until 11.00pm. Make a note of the timings as shows start at different times, and include Eidyah giveaways for children.
Fireworks are back at Katara and expected to begin at 10.15pm.
Eid in Qatar – Souq Waqif
Enjoy Eid celebrations at Al Ahmed Square, Souq Waqif from 4.00pm to 10.30pm on Day 1 – 6 of Eid.
Entrance Fee of QAR 10 (inclusive of one ride). Additional rides cost QAR10 each.
Eid in Qatar – Aspire Park
Row Boating: 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm
Tennis courts, public football pitches, basketball courts and volley ball courts: All day
Wireless car racing and biking: 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Eid in Qatar – Al Dosari Zoo and Game Reserve
On Day 2-5 Eid you can visit Al Dosari Zoo and Game Reserve (Al Khariab; Al Shahaniya) from 3.00pm until 7.00pm.

Eid in Qatar – Tours at Sheikh Faisal Bin Qasim Al Thani Museum
From Day 1-7 of Eid enjoy tours of the eclectic collection at Sheikh Faisal Bin Qasim Al Thani Museum (Al Shahaniya Area). Open from 9.00am until 6.00pm.
Entrance Fee: Under 8 years – free; 9-18 years – QAR 10; above 18 years QAR15.
Eid In Qatar – Horse Riding at Al Samriya Equestrian Academy
From Day 1 – 7 of Eid Al Adha enjoy horse riding at Al Samriya Equestrian Academy (Al Shahaniya). Open from 9.00am until 6.00pm.
Activity Fees: Stagecoach Ride – QAR 50; Arabian horse ride – QAR 100.
Eid In Qatar – Aqua Park
From Day 1 -3 of Eid you can enjoy water splash activities at Aqua Park (Salwa Road – Exit 29). Open from 2.00pm until 8.00pm.
Entrance Fee: Adults – QAR 180. Children – QAR 130
Eid in Qatar – Aerial Paragliding Tours
From Day 1 -7 of Eid enjoy Aerial Paragliding at Sealine Beach (before to Sealine Beach Resort Roundabout). Organised by Qatar Air Sports Committee; available from 3.30pm until 6.30pm.
Entrance Fee: QAR250 per person (18+ only).
Eid in Qatar – More Free Celebrations
Ministry of Interior, Qatar
The Ministry of Interior has put together another fun-packed “Communities Eid Al Adha Celebrations 2016” festival programme. The Indian, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan and Indonesian communities will perform cultural and traditional shows. There will also be gift raffle draws for the public!
Day 1 only (Monday 12th) at Wakra Sports Club from 5.00pm – 10.pm.
Day 1 & 2 (Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th September 2016) – at open theatre near Cricket Stadium at Asian Town in Doha Industrial Area and Barwa Sports Complex in Al Khor Industrial Area. (Family seating area available).

The Ministry of Culture and Sport has put together a free schedule of Qatari traditional dance, multicultural performance and a variety of Events.

Kulinarya Qatar 2016
Kulinarya Qatar will be hosting their annual Filipino Community Day & Food Festival at the Westin Hotel and Spa from 12th-14th September 2016 from 10am – 10pm.
It is an initiative to promote Filipino cuisine and culture, and will showcase Filipino food restaurants, cultural shows, kids activities, cooking competitions, and workshops.
