It’s a mixed weekend of celebration and good eats across Doha as our different communities get ready to celebrate. Turkish Republic Day occurs on the 29th October, whilst Diwali (the Festival of Lights) is set to begin at the end of the month into early November.
We have just seen a successful Filipino Food Fiesta finish at InterContinental Doha The City, and can now welcome the Vietnamese Culture & Cuisine Festival at Shangri-La Doha.

Where To Eat This Weekend in Doha
MIA Park Bazaar
If you haven’t checked out the infamous MIA Park Bazaar you really are doing yourself a disservice. Known a the ‘modern version of the old souq tradition’ the Bazaar is contemporary variant on Souq Waqif. It’s not just food but you can find some good eats there including cookies, pies and more.
Open officially from 12.00pm until 7.00pm (but the set up starts from 10.00am).
MIA Park Bazaar Tips:
- Popular food stalls sell out their favourites early in the day, so get there early if you are after something specific.
- Make a picnic of it – you should be able to buy mains and desserts at MIA Bazaar. Just bring your own drinks and snacks as it’s always cheaper!
- Don’t expect the same people every week, and don’t expect people to be there for the whole day. So if you see something you like and you’re not going to buy it then and there, be sure to take the name and contact details of the seller!
