The Chinese Zodiac runs in a 12-year cycle, with each year linked to a specific animal. The Lunar New Year will begin on February 16th 2018. It will be the start of the cycle of the Year of the Dog, and is said to symbolise luck.

 

Chinese New Year in China creates chaos and traffic across the national transport system as citizens travel across the country to spend the New Year with their families. Traditional dictates that families clean their homes as a symbolic action to get rid of bad luck, and encourage good luck.
