Christmas in Doha 2016 – Tips

 

• Book in advance – be aware that some venues require payment in advance. Make sure you know your preferred venue’s booking policy. Confirm all booking details, including prices and timings, via email in case of complications later.

• In Qatar the 24th December is usually treated as a ‘dry’ day out of respect for cultural customs. If you are booking a Christmas Eve Buffet or Meal be sure to double-check if this is a concern for you.

• If you are making a booking on behalf of a large group check for special dietary requirements or allergies. Be sure to make any requests clear to the management at the venue, and contact them in advance as they will find it easier to accommodate guests.

• Check dates, locations and timings of events and dining promotions! This is VITAL as venues may make changes due to unforeseen circumstances.

Doha Turkey Dinner Takeaway – Tips

• If you order your Turkey for Christmas at home, then be aware of the order policy at your chosen vendor. Venues offer Turkey-in-a-box dinners at different dates – so if you are looking to celebrate early then take a note of the dates for their Turkey promotions.

• Advance booking may be required (and advance payment) with some venues requiring 24-72 hours minimum notice. Most vendors require 48 hours. If possible, order early to ensure your Turkey Dinner is ready for Chrismas Day.

• When placing your order book the Turkey to be ready for when it will be served, so if Dinner is at 7.00pm book for the closest time – don’t be ordering it for the morning!

• Most venues require bookings for takeaway turkeys to be paid fully in advance, so be sure to double-check all the conditions for this service. If you order by email or fax expect an order confirmation reply – if you don’t receive one promptly then follow up by calling the venue.

• Make sure to check with your diners to see if they have any allergies or dietary requirements that you would have to take into consideration when placing your Christmas Turkey order.

• Order the correct weight of turkey based on the number of expected diners, and don’t forget to consider what the venue will provide if you do choose the ‘with trimmings’ option.  Always ask for an email verification of your order with detailed costings.

• Will you be ordering your sides? Check exactly what is available, the full pricings and weight of side dishes. Consider supplementing sides with your own homemade ones.

• Write down all your order details and be sure to note down where to collect your Takeaway Turkey Dinner from and at what time. Keep the venue contact details with you so you can keep them updated if you are going to be late.

• Some venues also offer other proteins such as Roast Beef, so do take a full look at their offerings. If you need clarification call up the venue for more information.

• If you collect your Christmas Turkey order make sure to transport food carefully, and remember food safety!
