Heading into their next leg for their IHG Culinary Journey, Crowne Plaza Doha has something very unique to present to the foodies of the city with a showcase of the dishes of world-renowned Japanese Chef Takagi Kazuo.
Last night they launched the IHG culinary journey into the unique food traditions of Kyoto with a special dinner attended by the Japanese Ambassador HE Shingo Tsuda, and local guests and VIPs.
Chef Takagi’s mother was a culinary school instructor and influenced his decision to become a Chef. She mentored him in Kyo-ryori, which originates from Japan’s Kyoto prefecture – this area used to the capital city of Imperial Japan over 1,000 years ago, and was known for its cuisine and cooking techniques. The Kyoto cuisine emphasizes seasonal cooking, and balancing flavors and taste with a visual element.
Dubbed the Master of Japanese Cuisine his Kyoto restaurant, Takagi, has two Michelin stars. Think delicate flavor combinations with Japanese precision as Chef Takagi represents Kyoto cuisine in his role as an IHG Culinary Ambassador. He has developed a special menu showcasing his signature dishes for guests dining in IHG hotels across the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
