Mondrian Doha – The Restaurants

Mondrian Doha, the latest luxury hotel in Qatar, will open its doors to guests this winter with room reservation bookings available from October onwards. Managed by sbe, the 270-room property is located near Lagoona Mall and Lusail City.

The Mondrian Doha building has been attracting attention for months with its unique falcon-shape. Designed by Dutch designer Marcel Wanders, the hotel interiors reflect the essence of ‘One Thousand and One Nights’, and features ornate Arabic writing and elements from historic souks. Standout memorable elements include giant columns with golden eggs, a ‘tree of life’ comprised of flowers, falcon video art, patterned carpets, ornate stained glass and intricate mosaic tiling.

The penthouse suite on the 23rd floor features panoramic 360 degree views across Doha, while the bridal suite has its own private elevator access to the 2000 square foot ballroom. The iconic spiral floating staircase will take guests on a visual journey up four levels to a viewing platform. And a stained glass dome skylight is the spectacular feature to be found on the 27th floor.

Mondrian Doha will have four restaurant outlets: Cut by Wolfgang Puck, Morimoto, Walima and Hudson Tavern.

There will also be three bars, Smoke & Mirrors, Rise, and Black Orchid, and the popular cafe Magnolia Bakery will be located in the lobby.

 

Mondrian Doha – The Restaurants

There is something special to look forward to with the opening of Mondrian Doha which will be introducing interesting food and beverage outlets including concepts by international chefs Masaharu Morimoto and Wolfgang Puck.

Walima is set to be the jewel in the crown at Mondrian Doha, which is no mean feat considering the other outlets. It will showcase the best of luxury with the warmth of Qatari hospitality. Featuring a sunken majlis, private VIP booths, and an outside terrace with traditional Arabic tents.

Renowned chef and restaurateur Wolfgang Puck brings his take on a classic American steak restaurant to Qatar for the first time. CUT by Wolfgang Puck is a sleek restaurant offering a sophisticated menu featuring locally-sourced ingredients and the finest cuts of prime beef.

Morimoto Doha will be the first Morimoto to open in the Middle East by Japanese Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients. Inspired by ancient Japan and a key landmark in the city of Nara, Morimoto is decorated with energetic art painted by Hiroshi Senju. There will be a 16-seat sushi bar, and a main dining area surrounded by rose-gold studded columns.

Hudson Tavern will highlight burgers with brick walls, wooden surfaces and vintage light fixtures. The menu will feature hand-crafted burgers and brewed drinks.

Magnolia Bakery is located in the lobby where Marcel Wanders signature ‘Tree of Life’ sculpture can be admired. Expect cupcakes, puddings, pies and more from this classic New York bakery.

Rise will be located on the 27th floor, with amazing views of West Bay, the Pearl, and Lusail City. The skylight glass dome is hand painted and fills the space with different hues of light throughout the day.

Mondrian Doha’s nightclub Black Orchid has a secret tunnel entrance. The design features gold framed mirrors, two bars, and a large DJ booth.
