Nozomi is the newest culinary hotspot in Doha – located in the gardens of the island of Marsa Malaz Kempinski – with a focus on Japanese cuisine made with fresh ingredients and subtle flavours. UPDATE: Nozomi Doha has officially opened – for more details check out our Nozomi Doha – New Opening feature.
The London branch of Nozomi has been serving diners for over 10 years with a unique dining experience focused upon both world-class cuisine and contemporary music. Thanks to its location and foodie reputation it is also a regular haunt of the rich and famous from A-list Hollywood actors to award-wining music icons.
Based in Knightsbridge the design scheme is modern with echoes of a 1920s art deco past. The use of metal, wood and leather materials lends it a rather masculine tone, but its glass atrium and white ceilings bring light to a potentially dark concept.
Nozomi’s private dining room, The Peacock Room, has beautiful floor-to-ceiling windows letting in masses of light reflected around the room by wall mirrors and provides an elegant dining space for up to 30 guests.
Nozomi London also has some fantastic food offerings from sharing sashimi and sushi platters made with the freshest seafood to Kobe Beef Tataki. The signature dish is the very popular Black Cod, whilst the Scallop and Foie Gras Dumplings come highly recommended.
Special mention goes to the Grilled Lamb Cutlets, Soft Shell Crab, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Grilled Asparagus, Chilean Sea Bass, Yellow-Tail Sashimi, Edamame, and Miso Soup.
Doha foodies can expect some excellent food offerings and flavour combinations from Nozomi Doha. The London branch offers some delightful desserts with a Valrhona Chocolate Fondant and a cheeky Deep Fried Crème Brulee with mango and banana flavour pairings. Potential drinks to look forward to are the Sencha Tea, the Igosan and Japanese Iced Tea.
Whilst we look forward to seeing any of the afore mentioned dishes and drinks on the menu of Nozomi Doha, we do recognise that there will have to be some adjustments to dishes based on seasonal availability and cultural preferences.
