Katara Cultural Village is really stepping up its efforts to provide street-style markets during the year. Their hugely successful Mahaseel Farmer’s Market has inspired a similar Ramadan-themed market that was inaugurated this weekend.
Meerat Ramadan has opened at the Southern side of Katara, where small home-businesses and larger retailers are mixing it up to sell lower cost goods during the Holy Month.
You can expect fresh produce, including chicken and meat, and packed food tins and packages. While some retailers will be selling Ramadan-themed items that will be suitable for gifting such as clothing and accessories.
Popular Ramadan items such as dates and honey will also be sold. Around 35 outlets are expected to sell at the Market including Al Meera Supermarket, Baladna Market, Widam Food, and Bu Saif Apiaries.

The Ramadan Market is open to the public, and scheduled to run until the end of Ramadan. According to the Katara website the current hours (until June 17th) are 5:00pm until 9:00pm, although we recommend that you check it is open before making a special journey as timings may change during Ramadan.
There will be a kids area with bouncy castle, and it is expected that the Ramadan market will be popular with families as they enjoy their Ramadan evenings at Katara.
