Saffron Lounge, Katara
This is one of Michelin-starred Chef Vineet Bhatia’s restaurants with fine dining at its heart. It is also the fifth year in a row that it has won Best Indian Restaurant at the Time Out Doha Restaurant Awards!
Prices are high but the ambience and food more than hold up on their own. You should keep an eye out for the excellent sides including the Peshwari Naan and the Chaats.

Featuring a variety of Thalis, this South Indian restaurant is holding its last weekend for their Seafood Festival.

This restaurant is a popular franchise from the Indian singer Asha Bhosle, known for her Bollywood music hits. Prices are higher than your usual local, and the ambience is a little lacking. But we keep going back for the creamy and delicious Rasmalai!

Signature by Sanjeev Kapoor, Melia Hotel
Based in Westbay this is Indian fine dining concept comes from the popular Chef Sanjeev Kapoor – a household name in India. Currently they have an interesting Fusion Brunch with Melia Hotel’s Spanish restaurant Aceite, where diners can enjoy a range of dishes from both venues from 190QR per person. From 12.00pm until 4.00pm on Fridays.

Zaffran Dining Experience, Al Emadi Financial Square
Fast making a name for itself based on its inventive use of molecular gastromony, this local restaurant concept has some interesting versions of popular Indian dishes including an expensive liquid nitrogen Chaat. Some of the pricing is high but there are some reasonably priced dishes.
Keep an eye out for the very fun smoking biscuit – custard creams will never be the same!

Royal Tandoor, The Pearl-Qatar
With a few branches in Doha, we choose the La Croisette location so as to make full use of the balmy Winter weather! With an excellent Butter Chicken and reasonable prices, this chain of restaurants is popular across the board.
